This post for Magento beginner. Easily check and change the database configuration settings in Magento Within 1 Minute.

Before the Install Magento, You need to create one database. e.g, ‘test_magento’. And You need to link this database to your project.

You can check your database name, the database table prefix, the database username and password of the MySQL database for your specific Magento project. And you can do change all these settings help of a file called local.xml.

File Location for all Magento project : public_html/app/etc/local.xml

Open local.xml file. If your project not contain local.xml than Download from here. Download local.xml

In the local.xml file you’ll get the following lines:

<host><![CDATA[localhost]]></host>
<username><![CDATA[database_username]]></username>
<password><![CDATA[database_password]]></password>
<dbname><![CDATA[database_name]]></dbname>
localhost => Mysql server hostname
database_username => Mysql user to connect database server
database_password => Mysql user password
database_name =>  Mysql database name of magento
If you change your database for installed magento project. Than just change above configuration. And if your site URL also change than change in your database.
In your database : search table 'core_config_data'. In core_config_data table change "web/unsecure/base_url" => http://yoursiteurl.com And "web/secure/base_url" => http://yoursiteurl.com. Generally on id 9 & 10.

It's Done. Now refresh your page and see the changes.
